Apple Begins iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 2 Distribution to iPhones.

 

The latest developer release is concerned with polishing the iOS 26 experience of the qualified iPhone owners. 

 


After the iOS 26.1 Developer Beta was released on 24 September 2025, Apple has started to release the iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 2 release. 

 

This is the second iOS 26.1 developer release, and, instead of a massive redesign, it focuses on significant improvements. 

 

The iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 2 has little system additions and advancements. 

 


The second developer beta of iOS 26.1 is released almost a month after the stable iOS 26 is released. The iOS 26.1 developer beta build identifier is no longer 23B5044l but 23B5059e. Devices that can take iOS 26 will see some minor changes to the user interface not only to the design but also to the system performance as well. 

 

Secondly, when iOS 26.1 was introduced in the first iOS 26.1 Developer Beta, Apple added support in the following languages in Apple Intelligence, including Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese. The second build is therefore expected to support this language support. 

 

Other features include Liquid Glass effects to the Apple keyboard, a new Safari tab bar, a new seek bar in the Photos application, and additional Apple Music refinements and more. 

 

Eligible developers can install the newest iOS 26.1 Public Beta by going to settings general software update update now. Therefore, developers expect the introduction of second developer beta releases of iPadOS 26.1, macOS 26.1, watchOS 26.1, TVOS 26.1, and visionOS 26.1.

What is new in iOS 26 beta 2? 

iOS 26 Beta 2 brings with it sweeping UI refinements, such as a more prominent Liquid Glass effect, new physics-based animations, better performance, and a redesigned Control Center with a better blur and faster application launch.

Last month, Apple released iOS 26 to all people.

A report indicates that all iPhones that can use iOS 18 will also be able to use iOS 19. Which contains the iPhones 10R and above. The iOS19 update will not however be rolled out on older models like the iPhone 6, iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone 10.
